How I Feel After Getting the COVID Vaccine

So, this happened today!

And what a whirlwind of emotions…

As I walked across the parking lot in a cold downpour, I rejoiced in the opportunity to protect my family and my community from this deadly disease.

I remembered the 400,000 Americans who have already died and their families who mourn them.

I marveled at how quickly the scientific community responded to this pandemic.

I gave thanks that my daughter and other health care workers who have been at the greatest risk have also received the vaccination.

I prayed that Matt and every other vulnerable person would be able to get it soon.

And I smiled, thinking about the Hope of Spring coming; hearing the laughter of friends, hugging my family who I haven’t seen in a year and going on a walk with my four-year-old nephew.

There is always HOPE… today it was just a little more tangible than usual.

Where did you find HOPE today?
