A Picture Worth a Thousand Words

When I say the word Nike, what picture comes to mind? Or how about the Olympics? McDonald’s? All three of these brands are visually undeniable, which is enormously important since research shows the average person on an average day is exposed to more than 5,000 brand logos or messages.

Clearly, businesses recognize the importance of creating a visual brand that is memorable and ideally tied to the product or service it represents. A powerful, well-thought-out logo can influence how consumers feel about a company as well as the products and services they provide. All of this seems pretty intuitive until you (or in this case me) decide to launch your own business and begin to ask yourself what it is that you want people to think and feel when they see your logo.

Although I had no idea what I wanted my logo to look like, I knew I wanted it to be warm and inviting. I wanted people to see it and feel safe, hopeful, and yet inquisitive. I wanted it to feel comforting like a soft blanket and promising like the sunrise. Visually, I wanted it to fit into my defined color palette and be soft and flowing, without rigidity. If we could accomplish these things, then it would bring my mission of equipping you to embrace your brokenness and discover your true value and identity to life.

I say we, because together with my creative team, the logo to RMM was born. The beautiful waves represent all things - even the rough waters of life. The three rainbows symbolize His glory and the promises He’s made to us as His children. Three is also significant because it depicts the triune nature of the Trinity. Together, these images show that even in our brokenness, because of God sending the sacrifice of His son Jesus, beauty will prevail - which is the heart of Robin May Ministries.

My hope is that you’ll spend a minute with the logo and see how it was carefully designed to connect you to His truth. It would be awesome to hear exactly what it is that you think and feel when you see the logo.

And if you’re finding these posts helpful, please “Just Do It” and introduce someone you know to RMM.
