One Month Post Diagnosis Update

#TeamMatt;

Four weeks ago we rallied you to help us fight this beast that has returned to Matt’s body. Your response has been overwhelming. Every morning I sit right here in the quiet of the morning and I am overtaken with emotion as I reflect on all the ways YOUR love is showing us HIS love. I feel a strength and peace that gives me a quiet confidence. It’s not from me. It’s a gift from above and because of your prayers.

Speaking of gifts, these last few days have been rich with them! First off, Matt was able to finish his classes and is now an official graduate of Truman State University. He enjoyed each and every card and note that he received and your thoughtfulness touches him deeply. Thank you for sending them and thank you to all who have blessed us beyond our imagination this last month.

Secondly, Matt had another SURPRISE last week at one of his appointments. As I mentioned on this week’s podcast, Matt’s blood work now shows that his chemo regimen is working and working really well. In fact, there are no longer leukemia blasts present in Matt’s blood. Wahoo! This is a huge first step toward the complete remission he needs before he can move to a transplant. Join us in praising God for this blessing and for hearing our prayers.

Finally, I want everyone to know how special our Mother’s Day weekend was for our family. I was able to sip coffee and exercise with Madison; go for a walk with Matthew, enjoy a foot rub from Tom, and simply reflect on the gift of motherhood. I thanked God for Madison and Matt’s yesterdays, their today, and their tomorrows. I thanked Him for being the author of their forevers and I spent the day marveling at the story He is unfolding. Thanks to you all for your part in it.

Blessings to you all,

Robin
